Forres is a beautiful small town in the Moray area of Scotland. To the east of Inverness, the town is in the heart of Scotland's Malt Whisky country as well as being close to some spectacular castles and the coast of the Moray Firth.
This is a great area to explore by bike. There are countless miles of quiet country roads surrounding the town and many cultural attractions to visit. Accessible by bike are places such as Dallas Dhu distillery, Pluscarden Abbey, Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle, Elgin Cathedral and many more. If you are comfortable cycling a little further you might consider Fort George, Culloden Battlefield, Duffus Castle and many Speyside distilleries.
Nearby villages of Cawdor, Findhorn and Burghead make short excursions. There many more options beyond. Forres itself is one of Scotland's most pleasant towns and there are various places to eat ...and sample the local Malt Whisky.
