Long Distance - Lands End To John O'groats (with Bag Transfer)

Route: It really doesn't need much more explanation.  However, if you are not from the UK perhaps its worth explaining that Lands End is the southwest tip of England and John O'Groats the northwest tip of Scotland.  Cycling between them is just one of those challenges that people can't resist.

It's the UK's ultimate cycling challange.  Lands End to John O'Groats is something that many cyclists feel is something that they just have to do one day.  Everyone who has done it has their own route and we are no exception.

The route you take will have many influences ...you might well want to avoid unnecessary miles, unnecessary hills, heavy traffic, big cities ...and you might prefer to travel through beatuiful villages with strategically placed cafes and pubs while cycling through stunning scenery ...with a permanent tailwind to help you along!  Sadly, this is the route we are looking for too.

Our route does its best to consider all these aspects. We are particularly keen to avoid busy 'A' roads and we prefer to feature towns where we can find you a selection of eating opportunities and places to stay.  Fantastic scenery is part of the deal on any route, but experience suggests that by the time you reach Scotland the idea of extra miles to take in particular sights is not as appealing as it sounded when the plans were hatched back home.

Everyone, has their own idea of the right way to it, but our route takes in Bodmin, Taunton, Bath, Worcester, Nantwich, Lancaster, Lockerbie, Perth, Inverness, Helmsdale and lots more places in between.  The route has been created specifically to try and pass through a sizable town every 20-30 miles.  That isn't always possible, but it hopefully mean that the next meal is never too far away.
