Day one of this three day trip leaves Inverness following the Caledonian Canal to reach the banks of Loch Ness, one of Scotland's most famous Lochs. For close to 15 miles you will cycle along the shore of the loch, giving you plenty of opportunity to keep one eye out for unexplained movements on the surface! From Foyers the route climbs a little before dropping down to Fort Augustus at the southern end of Loch Ness.

Heading North East the route retraces around 10 miles from the previous day before passing Loch Mhor and Loch Ruthven (there might just be one monster, but there are many other beautiful lochs in this area). The day ends at the Steadings Hotel in the isolated hills of Strathnairn.

From Strathnairn we take the scenic route back to the Highland capital. The route passes the battlefield at Culloden
on the way back to the city.

This is circular trip starting and ending in Inverness. Inverness has a direct rail link to Glasgow and Edinburgh (journey time of approximately 3 hours 30 mins) and an international airport.
